From 30 June 2026, Police Super will no longer facilitate deductions from pension payments.
This decision follows the identification of potential risks to superannuation funds and their members, and has been made on the basis that:
- superannuation funds exist to provide superannuation and retirement benefits only and deductions from pension benefits fall outside of these requirements.
- the risks of third parties sending money to another organisation can be significant, especially in a financial or governance context.
- payments to third parties introduces a fraud risk to Police Super and a lack of direct control increases vulnerability to members.
To ensure continuity of health insurance coverage and other third-party memberships, please contact these providers and organisations directly prior to 30 June 2026 to establish alternative payment arrangements. The respective providers and organisations have been notified and are prepared to assist you throughout this transition.
